I am just starting to use adwords.
how has it worked for you sit?. Does it give you a good bit of your visitors, do you feel it is worth your bid amount?
How much do you spend a month on adwords and how many visits do you get form it?

I've been using AdWords for about a year and a half. I've used it for retail projects and more.
It's a pretty good system, my retail store would be dead in the water without it, or at least PPC in general.
For reasonably popular topics, it seems to provide as many visitors as you might be willing to purchase. I'd love to get the same thing for a penny but with a minimum bid of a nickle that's not bad.
My main tip is to monitor and refine. Keep two creatives going for each campaign, that way if you need to tweak one, your other approved ad will still be going on Google's partner sites for maximum exposure.

As expensive as you want it to be. You set the amount only thing google sets is the minimum bid has to be .05 other than that its up to you, you could limit it to only spend .05 a day or 5000.....

If you go to Google, and type in mortgage...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=mortgage
You'll see lots of AdWord boxes on the right side of the page, plus maybe one just above the first "regular" search results.
It's a PPC system, which means pay per click.

It's pretty good. However, you have to work so hard since you have to keep monitoring the Adword all the time. SOmetimes, keywords, which used to be allowed are prohibited unconditionally.
Must be careful

Yes they will remove you from the rotation if you dont get enough clicks on your ad so it has to be catchy enough to make people click the ad.
