I've got a small ING orange account. No issues with it really. It's easy to forget about because of rare mail or email contact, but that could be considered a good thing. Decent interest rate, I think it even just went up a tad.

there are no minimums or fees. I have been using ING for a while know and love it. Gives you a great rate! You can have a buck or thousands and you will get the same great rate!

They only have a few offices in the US and abroad. You don't have to pay for the tellers, brokers, or the buildings. It is a LOW overhead bank mainly run online. This is why they are able to give great returns.
Typical banks have lot of overhead due to employees benefits etc... where ING and few others out there don't .
Hope this helps you. I have already received 80 bucks in interest and signup bonuses in just past couple of months...
ING has been around for a while and i don't think they will be going anywhere, and if they do it is FDIC insured!

| Called INGDirect |
|
|
I just got off the phone with a INGDirect Rep. He could only link an ING account to a non-managed checking account. They also needed the address listed on a current checking account. Does ING take an elaborate ownership of my current financial institutions account. Am I to reallocate all these funds into ING's propietary accounts? The Phone rep mentioned it was comparable to a money market account. When I asked in what way he simply stated it was comparable in terms of the rate of return. Why is it that I never hear money market accounts being mentioned?

Money market accounts are out there and give decent return around 1%. I had a money market account untill i came accross ing direct savings account
ING direct links to your Checking account so you can transfer money to and from your ING account. It in no way over takes you account. It does same thing paypal does it links to your account so you can transfer money to and from. As they will make two small deposits into your accoutn to verify it is yours and you will ahve to go bakc to ING site and state the amounts that were deposited then you are linked.. It is a quick and painless process.

They pay out the interest at the end of the month but it shows you the accruing by day.
