How poor is your credit exactly? That will determine whether or not you can get a home equity loan, as well as what intrest rate you'll be able to get...

Depends how bad is your credit. There are lots of home equity loans for bad credit. Or you can look for a co-signer with a good credit.

It is possible depending, but it weighs on a lot of different factors e.g. income, job status, work history, equity, etc. Do thorough research and compare your options.

Well I am not sure if it helps but if you really need the money you can try and a loan in another country. For example in Germany you can also get a loan from private persons. If you have a friend or relative here, youn can try it with a Kredit von Privat .Can you do this? In Europe it is possible only in Germany as far as I know.
