If being around children makes you feel good, you can work part-time or casually at a childcare centre.
This thread offends me.

ALl I can say is I hope my son (currently 6 ) is on a money forum when he is 14. I am impressed. If you play your cards right and start saving now for your retirement you can get away with putting away a little compared to someone who starts in there late twentys or thirtys. Compound interest is an amazing thing.
Congrat to you for being here and learning at a young age.

I'm a teacher, so I'm around kids all day. It's not the same at all. Do I want to pull my hair out some days? Yes. But your kid is your kid and to me, it's an honor to be able to give back to the world with the future generations.
Money is money...to me, it's not really an accomplishment, or a reason to live. Although I do not have children yet, I look forward to it like nothing else. Do I want to save money and have a good time spending it? Yes, but happiness can't be bought....children are one of those miracles that will always bring you joy (and a few gray hairs).
Just my opinion. If you're happy living life with your philosophy, that's great! No one should tell you you're wrong in living that way. Whatever you feel fit is the path you should choose

I agree with you, Miriam. In my opinion, money is a means to an end, not the end.

$ is not the only thing you can be rich in. If it is you are poor indeed.
