NHS Added Years or FSAVC?  Reply with quote

Hi,

My wife took out an FSAVC in 1998 when she could have opted for buying added years through the NHS scheme, instead. She was under 30 at the time and would have got a great deal on the added years, I believe. The plan was purchased, on the face of it, because she wanted to retire earlier than the main scheme would allow.

Would she have been better to have taken the Added Years route? Has she been missold?

I would be interested to know what experts think and their reasoning for it.

Many thanks,

John.

I think I'm one of the few UK members here.

But whilst I have just done some looking into these schemes I'm afraid I am not well educated enough in that area to give a sensible response.
