These are great funds choose them based ont eh year you want to retire the reason these are great as they adjust your investments due to less risk the closer you get to retirement...

Sicne you are moving closer to retirement you would want mroe stable bonds... unless you are way behind then you would want to be more aggressive but with that comes the risk....

How much do you have in your account and how much do you need to retire and by when do you want to retire as this will help us to give you advice.

I have $141,000 invested right now. I really would like to retire now, but i know thats not an option. I am planning on retiring in my late 50's or early 60's. As far as how much money i would need, i really havent planned that all out yet.
Im not planning on making a bundle with my 401k but i would just like to know a better way to make the most out of my funds. The choices i have now, ive been losing on.

Your selections are dominated by Fidelity Funds. They must be your plan administrator.

The international funds you are holding are simply great. If they are lower lately, it is because the dollar has been stronger. Take latin america and southeast asia down to no more than 10% each for a total of 30% international.

Baron Growth, Templeton Developing Markets A, and Fidelity Select Healthcare are holding you back. Dump them. Morningstar shows Baron Growth as closed to new investors, so it really is an evolutionary dead end. The fund expense ratio at Templeton Developing Markets A is 2 percent! That's outrageous given the mediocre performance. Plus its holdings overlap somewhat your southeast asia fund. And the performance of Fidelity Select Healthcare also seems decisively lackluster.

Take a look at Fidelity Value Strategies (FSLSX). It is tech heavy, I will admit, but it has performed splendidly despite the troubles in tech, and tech is the leading edge of the future. It holds desirable consumer, financial, and resources stocks as well. If I must pick from your list of offered investments, I pick that one, up to 40 percent. Trim it when it is high and buy more when it is low. Make it your trading core position. Cultivate, harvest, plant more.

I'd like you to consider Fidelity Investment Grade Bond (FBNDX) up to 20 percent and Fidelity Inflation-Protected Bond (FINPX) up to 10 percent, as an income underpinning of total asset growth. In a tax deferred account, I think you are missing a good bet not to hold positions which generate a current cash return. And these funds have shown steady NAV growth over the years.

~~David
