will I still get a tax refund or will
what I owe be taken from it?

What tax year is the refund due from? What tax year is the balance due from? What is the balance due for?

Actually, that's probably too many questions. Laughing They're only relevant to interest and penalties. You'll get the net if your refund is bigger, or still owe if the balance is bigger.

I owe for 2006 total was 1000 and I have been paying payments for the last 2-3 months. So what I owe will be deducted when i file for '08?

If you get a bill this summer for late taxes, you are expected to promptly pay the tax owed including any additional penalties and interest. If you are unable to pay the amount due, it is often in your best interest to get a loan to pay the bill in full rather than to make installment payments to the IRS.
