When we first put a piece of content online, it will often rank extremely well right out of the gate. This happens because Google gives a bonus to brand new content.
You may find that after a week or two, your ranking can start to slide. This happens because the fresh content bonus goes away as new ones emerge or your content wins the contest.
How can we stay with better ranking? The solution is to promote the content well so that plenty of other sites link to it. Even though you lose the fresh content bonus, you can still rank well if your content has the most link strength of all the documents that are related to the keyword in question.

Exactly. Many people start blogs and just copy and paste articles from other websites, which is POINTLESS. Your site will get flagged!

Checking for duplicate content is equally important like creating good content. There are notorious spammers who steal the good content from our website and use it other places. Slowly our site loses its prominence in the eyes of search engines. So protecting our content is also highly essential.

Google likes fresh content if it is on older sites that have some authority and site age. Newer websites will do better on Bing/MSN especially if their domain name is relevant to the search query.

I have a domain 100% relevant and fresh content. Whose bots are always the first there? Who always has the site indexed up-to-date? Google. I'm not too impressed with MSN/Bing. It's pretty, but it's a long ways from Google for results.
Just for kicks I went to another tab and looked at my bot log. Google's last visit was five minutes ago and MSN's last visit was 28 hours ago.

I should probably further qualify my statement about Google liking fresh content.
Google does indeed like fresh content. No argument there. However, to have a site rank high just because it has fresh content over a site that has fresh content and older site age is another matter. Google does have very active bots, however, if your content, no matter how fresh is not indexed well for whatever your main keyword focus is, then just having the bot come back every day doesn't do you much good. Update your sites regularly, build back links, keep pages narrowly keyword targeted, use internal anchor text links to describe your site etc etc. All of it matters.
Between two sites with all factors being even, a site that has fresh content, keyword relevance, etc, the site that has longer visitor duration, and is older will rank higher in the SERPS.
MSN/Bing is a very slow bot lately but the results I have seen have better relevance that even what Google has been showing.
I wonder why my links in my sig are not working....

That's important. I do a fair amount of research. I'll give them a more extended workout. Maybe a search-by-search direct comparison. Google has been getting a bit too much like a big bully lately; they could use a little serious competition.

Besides, if you just copy content, where is the customer value?
It does not really make sense to optimize a site for bing since Google still has a very high market share. However, if you can compete on keywords on Google, you should think about other search engines as well.

Additionally you won't get subscribers since the content isn't yours. Honestly, I couldn't really do that - setting up a blog and the copy content...My blog is my passion, my baby and I can't understand why people do such things.

Not really. If Google sees the content first at your site spammers can copy as much as they want, you want get banned, but they!
