Desparately Need Advice for Wedding  Reply with quote

I am getting married in one month. As of right now I am short on being able to pay for the wedding as well as our honeymoon. Naturally I am completely stressed and so in my Fiance!

I have amended my taxes today and I am expected to receive $3500 within the next 4-12 weeks. My dilemma is I do not have good credit and I do not have anyone to borrow the money from. Should I be looking into a payday or title loan in order to secure the funds I need? I need to be able to secure at least $2500 in order for me to be able to pay everything.

Any suggestions or input would be extremely helpful and much appreciated!

Hello Stizzle

Well in that case, IMO, you should move to preferred loan process.

It is an easy process and depends how much you need and how much you can afford. So ideally you would require making a plan and list out what you want to spend on your big day. Make sure to list out the necessary expenses, unnecessary but desired, and frivolous extras.

This list will help you to visualize the final figure and you can consider what you can afford to pay back each month on your loan before you get one.

Thanks

STiZzle2010,

Congratulations!!

Cut out the frills of the reception.

I recognize that it is a little late, but if you had an evening wedding followed by a cake and punch reception afterword - the cost would be a lot less.

Honeymoon? Find a nice out of season resort and go there. It does not need to be extravagant or exotic.

My bride and I were married on a Tuesday evening followed by a small reception.
On our honeymoon, it was near the opening of the hotel's season. We were the only guests in the hotel until Saturday. Breakfast and dinner were included with the room. At dinner we were the only folks in the dining room, good service! Over the years, we have gone back there a few times.

I personally would stay away from Payday Loans, nevertheless, consider the following:

The Disadvantages of Payday Loans

-Some loan providers prey on the helpless and unfortunate as well as the naive younger generation.
-Could foster negative habits and not instilling the value of money.
-Despite loaning you money if you have bad credit, interest fees which might be as excessive as 200% or sometimes more based on the credit standing of the customer as well as the amount borrowed.
-If your not in credit card default, stick with charge cards since the interest fees tend to be around 22 % - 26 %, compared to 200%, so that is a big difference.

The Advantages of Payday Loans

-Temporary payday advances are superior to the long term personal loans provided by nationwide banking institutions.
-Application fees tend to be a lot lower as opposed to the long term bank loan applications.
-The actual expenses charged by pay day loan customers are generally still significantly lower compared to fees on past due credit cards.
-The satisfaction of meeting immediantes needs for money, especialy, when it's eassential.
-People with poor credit ratings may still acquire a loan
-Anyone above eighteen years of age with a monthly salary and a checking account is eligible for the payday loan.
Payday loan disadvantages

Word to the wise..

When applying for the payday loan pay special attention to the agreement. Rates range from 10% - 30% which are considered high, and failing to fulfill the repayment on time will consequence in doubling the interest for the next repayment schedule. You have 30 days maximum to pay back the loan with the interest, depending on your repayment plan. People in debt are recommended not to use a payday loan as a debt consolidation loan because they will find themselves deeper in debt. Borrowers should pay extreme caution when dealing with online lenders due to fraud issues and reading the fine print is essential.

That's a very big adjustment to your tax liability. Are you sure you have a solid case for the change on your amended return? If the IRS challenges your amended return, your refund could be delayed and the amount of your refund, if any, might be much less than you are expecting if you can't justify the change.

I appreciate everyone's advice. My concern is with the short amount of time left and with my poor credit is getting approved. What is a good place to start for a loan that I will be able to get approved with. Unfortunately we have already done away with what we don't need and have reduced the costs as much as we can. I am so stressed and need money in 2 weeks. Idk what to do!

Never use a payday loan! They are a TOTAL ripoff and will end up costing you so much.

Is there any way to scale back a few of the more expensive wedding plans? Perhaps a honeymoon that isn't as expensive would be nice. I know my spouse and I took a more financially easy honeymoon and, trust me, it was every bit as enjoyable.

You dont need to be in the tropics to enjoy your first vacation together as husband and wife. My advice is to scale back, do what you can afford and the later take a more "traditional" honeymoon.

You don't want to return from your honeymoon with debt. Don't do anything that makes is tarnished in your memory.

Get your credit cleaned up the legal way and then you can begin a life of financial stability in your marriage. So, sooo important.
