why on earth is age good determining factor in having kids?
I don't think it should be a factor at all. I think there are many different things involved in whether or not to have kids.
some of the ages I've seen as a response blow my mind, I have always been seen as "mature" for my age and I know I could not have responsibility of another person at the age of 25.
Some people will go their whole lives without children and be perfectly happy. Some have them way too early or before they're ready and suffer financially because of it (ie. my parents)
I think people are in such a hurry to grow up and people think that by having kids and getting married that that automatically makes them a grownup. I would rather wait until I know I can provide a healthy and nurturing environment for my kids even if that means I have to adopt later in life.
I saw this as a child first hand because my parents struggled, they rushed into things and I suffered the consequences of it. I vowed never to do that to my own kids if I were to ever have them.
Life may be short but that doesn't mean you need to be careless.

The later the better. Given the soft economy and how often people change jobs, bringing a child into this world has never been a more crucial decision. Have one when you're stable, have good family support structure along with a good mental attitude about taking care of another human being for decades to come.

I think the right age would be at least early or middle 20's, but more importantly, it depends on when both of you feel ready.
