Warren Buffet says " Where there is greed be fearful, but where there is pain be greedy.
Most Entrepreneurs will take this on board and use this in all their marketing, no matter whether it is an online business or an offline business. Selling something to someone fills a need and the use of pain associated to this need will determine if your prospect becomes a customer. I am interested in what others think about this as I believe people will do a lot more to reduce pain and therefore pain is a good marketing tool.
The main goal out of this is to remove the pain and make something better but is it ethical?.

I know fear is a huge selling point. Look at home alarm companies and their commercials about people breaking into houses and scaring the hell out of the people who live there.
Emotion, good or bad, is a huge part of marketing.
