Both Facebook and Twitter are hitting the internet hard. Many people are actually using them both to sell products. I wonder which site can be more effective?
For me, I think Facebook is leading the market ahead of Twitter, so it may be a better option for it to play in the purposes of marketing and selling one's product.
According to me, Facebook will be batter than Twitter. I like facebook due to it's page rank as well as high popularity. Facebook have high popularity who gives you quality traffic.

Facebook and twitter has their own purpose.
Twitter has more outbound links than Facebook. Almost every Tweet (140 word communication on Twitter) contains a link to a blog or website. People are tweeting about what they are finding online. This makes it great for driving traffic to where you have posted your offer for your niche market.
I totally agree with you. Both of these social networks have different environment. Twitter has more outward link, I also agree, as in Facebook one just ends up socializing both ways, in and out. Twitter becomes more of a shoutbox where one can express. I think both are effective. However, which is more effective. I wonder?
It really depends on how and what you use it for. Fb is great for promotions, contests, and giveaways, while Twitter can be great towards expanding your network and attracting potential customers.

Probably Facebook has the most potential of the two since it's much easier to connect/promote/advertise in a medium that does not have a limit on the number of words one can use, allows pictures and multimedia, and has by far the most members among all social networks.
However, both can be very well a waste of time. Most people are on FB and Twitter not because they care about your products but because they want to chat with their friends, etc. I guess most B2B will have a though time reaping benefits out of these two platforms while for B2C it will largely depend on how good their efforts are constructed

I can very see, and even agree that facebook is leading the market better than Twitter. Withthis, I can see that facebook can be a better venue for business. May I ask if anyone knows how to maximize the power of facebook?
I learned something out of the replies here, and it is with a grateful heart for me to say it. Yes, twitter would help make one increase the members of his network for more potential customers. Then, it is good to also use facebook to promote the products when the network is ready. That would make a lovely combination. Poor friendster.
Facebook offers more options on how to market product or services though twitter has its specific use also.

Dos is right. Twitter limits you to so few characters per tweet, that it really makes indepth advertising and marketing pretty touch. But if you have an announcement to share for instance, Twitter can come in handy.
And you can always tweet the link to your Facebook page.
I am really so glad that I am getting to learn a lot more here from you posters out there. I have to say thanks to all of you. I do not have twitter, so I can not really say which is better. It is only until now that I learned that the characters used for Twitter is limited. This actually can push facebook to another level of advantage since twitter would have no choice but to link to facebook, so facebook would have the edge.
