If you can drive a car to work and your not rich thank Ford.

If you own a computer and your not rich thank Apple.

Steve W the other Steve said he would rent an apartment so he could buy a computer once. That was because they were so expensive back in the day.

With the down turn many of us complain cuz things aren't as good as they were.

But if you have even a half way decent job your probably doing all right.

Well said. Good post. Even if I were a millionaire I'd still only buy somewhere small, like 2 bed bungalow.

More for savings and more for charity.

Corporations get bashed for making record profits while at the same time laying off workers and making the remaining workforce work even harder.

And then there are things like Walmart cutting health benefits and forcing more of their workers back on public assistance like Medicaid, etc.

Products and Services are great, but corporations don't always stand by those people who create the products and services we enjoy.

There's definitely some good when it comes to corporations which most people aren't against. The problems start with the level of control corporations have over governments.

.

Well, about 90% of the US work force are in corporations. So wouldn't you want corporations (the workers) to have control of government?

LOL okay NVS non verbal snicker. Just updated a blog blog. Had a dead link on it and it was the only link!!!!!!!

How come the Zombie couldn't build a downline?
To many dead links!!!!

I'm sort of working for a BIG corp. But the contract is with a company with anonymous ownership. Well the 34% owner is on record but there are two 33% owners. The job goes by very fast. It is like being online without the fun.

I have a theory about who owns it. To publicly post it could get me toasted.

Right after signing the ethics policy we were informed to lie about our location due to bomb threats. Though there has supposedly been only one bomb threat in the last 5 years.

another ma paw employer of mine doesn't want us talking about our work online either.

Think when I was subbing one of the schools I subbed for forbid me to post my name online. That is why I changed my biz site to Erik's dad at the time. Had more sign ups when I was using my real name!!!!!!

LOL - you can thank the Media for that slant. The Left wants to punish Big Corps so they do things to help "Small Business" - the word 'small' gives the impression that they care for the 'little guy' while fighting the 'Big Guys'.

But Business is Business, most ma & paw companies are incorporated (LLC's), they follow the same rules as any business - corporate taxation, etc. The oft reported stat is that Small Business provides 50% of the new jobs. And that is true - new companies, new jobs - but they also fail and lay off a high number of workers. The corrolary to that is - Big Business hires the other 50% of new jobs, plus the replacement workers for old jobs - and those jobs are more permanent.

It would be an interesting task for you - googlw the US workers and see who works where.

Business is business. Many people who end up earning big, but still continues to earn, they are so misunderstood. The reason why the continue earning and working hard is not really for money alone. It is their sense of excellence that pushes them to go further. Of course we can not expect him to just stop working and start throwing all of his money away just because we like him to. It is always because of excellence that they work hard, and it is something I want to learn more of.

But there are a lot of excellent workers who were laid off and are unemployed now.

Partly true - but many of the marginal workers were let go too. Again, a business that has many millions in their treasury (and most do right now) cannot simply hire more workers, build lots of product, and then stack it in the parking lot, there has to be a demand for that product. And the Obama anti-business environment has killed the demand for products.

Most CEOs would love to have a market to sell to - they love to expand, add onto their plants, buy new machines, buy trucks, hire workers - ie, invest that money in their treasury to build a bigger company, that is what capitalists do. But, with Obama's desire to punish corporations, would you invest your money into making your company bigger? I don't think so.

It is true, and I agree with you that a lot of good workers were laid off. That is where luck comes in. However, between 2 employees and workers, one is more excellent than the other, I am pretty sure which candidate would be the first to get kicked out. Well, I am not saying that it is always the case. However, we must at least try to be within the better classes so getting laid off would be of a lesser chance than those with poor working habits.
