New business community with a twist or two
I have signed up for many new business communities blending a social network with an ad board and seldom make it more than a few months without turning my back on them.
I discovered Apsense the other day and it's a breath of fresh air. The groups are starting to form and I found a couple of good ones and I love the idea of being able to block anyone who spams you.
They also have a desktop application called Apsense Express that avoids all the email problems and includes an RSS reader built in.
You can now use the advantage of social media site like Facebook and Twitter when you start running a business because it helps you promote your products and get potential customers that needed to develop your business.

Did you notice the original post in this thread is FOUR YEARS OLD? I don't know how people find these old posts to comment on, but in this case the interesting part is I am still using APSense just about every day and it keeps getting better,
The RSS application they had is no longer available, but other features have replaced it. Stop by and say Hi!

I suspect a bot that targets old threads. Scanning for posting date would be a simple matter.
If I catch them right away, they get deleted. If there's been another post appended, then they stay.

In this case they did me a favor, but I can see how it might be embarrassing in other situations.

LOL have to admit I was expecting a new community. Cuz I don't always look for when something was posted;) But perhaps I should focus on older marketing tools instead of always joining new stuff.
But then again on a new community you know the members have joined something in the present.

New stuff can keep us fresh.
That depends on your primary motive. Are you just looking for a place to troll for referrals, or do you want to actually associate with like-minded individuals in the hope of helping each other? In the case of the latter, it's better to find a seasoned resource where the majority of the trollers have mostly given up and moved on.

Associating with like minded individuals is okay though not sure that will apply in my case. Perhaps I'm a troll at heart;)
