A traffic exchange website receives website submissions from webmasters that join traffic exchange networks. The person who submitted the website then has to browse other member sites on the exchange program to earn credits, which enable their sites to be viewed by other members through the surf system. This increases the number of visitors to all the sites involved.

What about the ABC's of Traffic Exchanges for the newbie online marketer?
A traffic exchange is one tool you can utilize in generating traffic to your website or websites. There are both pros and cons of traffic exchanges. For example if you're using traffic exchange without using a splash page that is a mistake because the people who are on the exchanges are trying to generate traffic just like you. Your right I did just jump into TE lands. I was posting no forums and someone told me I shouldn't be marketing on forums. That I should be marketing on TEs.
Tried TEs but my computer at the time didn't like them. Got hooked on TEs; but, now I'm back to forums. Forums are more interactive and have better quality traffic.
TEs are good to generate hits but often those hits are just zipping on past.
