| Money making ideas for girls raising money for our church? |

We are collecting money to redecorate our youth group room so it doesn't look like death. We need as much money as we can get. What are some ways to earn money? Aside from:
raking leaves
car wash
asking for donations
walking dogs
babysitting
other various yard work

I like the raking leaves idea. I would say try and come up with things that are service oriented like that (so you are getting something back for giving). I think people are more inclined to give, when they also receive. I know it's greedy but it does seem to be human nature.

Sell cookies. At least cookies are not very hard to make, and they're good for quite some time. You can also do other baked goodies and have a few girls do some door-to-door selling.
If some members of the group are crafty and are really good with a sewing machine, you can sell handmade bags, pillow cases, soft toys, quilts, and other practical items out of fabric.

I like the idea of a bake sale!! It's perfect for girls to do and fun!!! I always liked baked sales when I was little!!!

Yup, a bake sale would be a good idea and is a sure hit. Just make sure that you have a good variety to interest buyers.

Hold an event at the church and charge an admission fee - a concert with acts donating their time, talent show with the girls performing, etc., and combine it with a bake sale/refreshment sale - might need to plan some for this but your profits would be higher than with just the bake sale.
