I thought the Rich Dad, Poor Dad book was very insightful and explained everything in terms anyone could understand. I also enjoyed many of the anecdotes.

In my view “One up on Wall Street” is the best book any new investor should read. In it, famed mutual fund manager Peter Lynch teaches us how to make money from the market.

The book is largely based on Kiyosaki's upbringing and education in Hawaii. The book highlights the different attitudes to money, work and life of two men, and how they in turn influenced key decisions in Kiyosaki's life.

“A Colossal Failure of Common Sense” by Lawrence G. McDonald with Patrick Robinson (Crown Business). McDonald, a former trader at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., offers a scathing inside look at how the firm became a house divided. This is really awesome book .
Thanks

If anyone wants real motivation, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad book" is the right book for you. If you haven't read it yet, you don't know what you are missing out on.

Benjamin Graham - Intelligent Investor (probably the best book on investing ever written)
Graham/Dodd - Security Analysis (this is a very long book, so read Intelligent Investor first!)
The Bible - You may be surprised to see there are a lot of good lessons about money.

The Science of Getting Rich - Wallace Wattles 1903 > Very good book to strengthen the foundation of inner wealth, develop a rich mind and purpose of wealth.
It is one thing to make a lot of money and another thing to be mentally capable of keeping it and growing it even more.

Some of the best books I've read on making a living from trading on financial markets: "The Way of the Turtle" by Curtis Faith and "Market Wizards" by Mark Schwager.

hehe, Kiyosaki does repeat himself a good bit; I wonder if his writing is a little disorganised or if he does that intentionally to reinforce the concepts. In either case, you DO have a clear understanding that sticks! I recommend his CASHFLOW QUADRANT book; it is the smallest and least-repetitive.
Other must-haves:
THE TRUTH ABOUT MONEY - Ric Edelman (tells a little bit about everything and is a very entertaining read; he writes like he speaks)
HOW TO MAKE MONEY IN STOCKS - Bill O'Neil, founder of INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY (IBD) newspaper www.investors.com
THE MILLIONAIRE NEXT DOOR - study of habits of first-generation millionaires in America. You will be surprised.
ONE UP ON WALL STREET - Peter Lynch (ran the famous Magellan Fund)
COMMON STOCKS, UNCOMMON PROFITS - the famous Fischer
SMALL TIME OPERATOR - how to set up a small business, like from your hobby (I have done this)
422 TAX DEDUCTIONS - from same author as SMALL TIME OPERATOR, get the two together
THE ERNST & YOUNG TAX GUIDE - for everyone who itemises, a little better than J.K. LASSER'S TAX GUIDE
THE INTELLIGENT INVESTOR - the famous Benjamin Graham (Warren Buffett's predecessor)
Any investor should look at all investment styles, from buy-and-hold to daytrading, to determine what works for the individual. Find your style![/quote]
What about Jim's Cramer's books, can you recommend one of his books? Thanks for sharing.

I admit, "The Way of the Turtle" by Curtis Faith and "Market Wizards" by Mark Schwager are one of the best on the market.

E-Myth by Michael Gerber is a great book about starting a small business.
When it comes to personal finance, you can't beat Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey.
