The recession is no excuse not to seek answers regarding where to invest money. Since the economy is down, it has nowhere else to go but up, hopefully sooner than later. But while waiting for the economy to go up, you should start looking at the places and ways to invest your money.

I think alternative energy is getting a little ahead of itself. Most of it is subsidized by governments, which are all broke. Having said that, I am positive this is a great ttime to be invested in stocks with a 5 to 10 year horizon. And in the short term, nothing is best than what works. So follow strong earnings.

You should start reading financial news, be aware when the economic data are coming out and how those data can affect the market, the earnings announcement from the companies.

Also, there are blogs available such as www.financegenie.net. so you can get someone's point of view about the stock market.[/url]

According to my trading experience, investing in energy, real estate and gold are the safest sectors these days.

Personally for me, when I opened my Scottrade account a few months ago, I just looked at the historical trends of the stocks and keep myself updated with the news.

Hey there,

Thanks all for the suggestions. I think these days, energy stocks are rising quite high and giving good opportunity to the scalpers to make money through it.

The second best thing to invest is in gold and crude oil. The are the saftest investment these days.
