| Choosing a Banking Institution |

For most people having a bank account is a necessity, and with so many free bank account options available it is a hard decision who to choose.
If you were looking for a reputable banking institution in the UK to open up a free bank account with who would you choose and more importantly why?
There are a range of accounts available, and most high street banks offer free accounts with an online banking option, a direct debit facility, and debit card. Some available include but are not exclusive to the Barclays, A+L, Lloyds and HSBC account packages.
Has anyone any views or opinions on these or similar available accounts.

It will depend on the recent financial economy as rates from top banks seem to be a determining factor now.I will be looking for a bank that will offer low interest rates for ISA, savings account and good credit card facilities.

Well, I choose as the bank after comparing:
1. The Lowest Interest rates
2. Overdraft facility
3. Customer care and support
4. Hidden cost and bank policies.
5. Facilities and other surplus offers given by the bank.

Availability of and access to ATMs is another consideration. Some banks charge fees to other banks to use their ATMs.

Ask questions about interest rates, types of mortgage loans, closing costs and processing fees when speaking to a bank lender. If they can answer your questions clearly and completely and provide additional information, then consider using their services. Developing a trusting relationship with your lender is important. If you don't feel comfortable, visit another bank.

Also, don't forget to consider banks with a superb customer service. All rates being equal (interest rates), it is the service that should count in the end.

In my experience the biggest institution is always the best, because that minimizes ATM usage costs. If you don't have a personal account, one may be more preferential in terms of what they supply businesses, but the biggest branches are generally the best for personal usage.

Compare financial institutions in order to find the one that will serve your business's needs and will also provide support and assistance during each stage of your business. Selecting an institution that you can work with will be especially important as your business grows. Start gathering information to help you make this important selection.
