I believe this is rather like asking of a crowd, "Can anyone who has leaped 400' onto a bed of rocks, please stand up?"

So no, I have not tried this scam, nor am likely to. Here are the immediate "holes" I see in the idea:

1. Who precisely is this unknown guarantor of success? I missed his or her phone number and personal contact info. Let's give the lad a jingle and perhaps, since he seems so earnest here, he'll invite us to swing by his new country estate? I could use a good dunk in the Olympic pool after some friendly rounds of rugby and polo.

2. Ask yourself, if you were onto something this big, and this easy, and were swilling around in $10-15k a week or month or whatever for 30 minutes of posting, would you broadcast your secret to the world, thereby endangering your secret golden goose?

3. If this were to work by mysterious means, I can only imagine it is an IBL scam, IBL being "inbound links" - the theory being that on Google and other search engines, posting to forums (such as this one) causes an "involuntary" backlink or IBL to the hyperlinked site in question, thereby raising their profile and SERP ranking and PR - bottom line being, better positioned in neatural search results, more likely to receive higher CTR and thus more converted sales.

It would take a large company to pay out $15k for such activity, given that one can, for most keywords and phrases, use legitimate and well-known PPC campaigning to get about 500,000 impressions/month and based on CTR, something like 5-50k web sessions/hits out of that. So say perhaps between 250-1k sales. I run and manage multiple such campaigns with much higher monthly PPC budgets for a variety of companies, NONE of whom would think twice about hustling me to the nearest window for immediate departure if I recommended or implemented a deceptive IBL scheme likely (based on low relevance and spam-sized frothing/time) to get their primary domain banned or penalized by major search engines.

4. Nobody can eat curry in 30 minutes. Not a good lamb Madras, anyway.

Take care, be smart, and remember that if it looks too good to be true, it usually is. Chain letters with a forum twist being one such.

I haven't moved this spam post to the Slammer because chiron has done such a nice job of taking the poster to task for their ridiculous posting.

It's quite a shame that people don't educate themselves to the mathematical fallacies that prop up these schemes. Then we wouldn't have to deal with them all the time.
