Thanks, David, good stuff in that article...

Conclusion

If someone tried to get you involved in a get-rich-quick scheme, chances are you are just waving good-bye to your hard-earned cash. High-return investments are almost always high-risk, and if you cannot afford to lose that money, you better keep it in a low-risk investment.

Investment schemes you find online are shams -- don't get caught up in one. If you are solicited through e-mail, take extra care to avoid any contact with these people. No one does legitimate business though unsolicited e-mail.

Here are some additional schemes to be aware of from the forum rules:

Forbidden Promotions

* Matrix Sites are automated pyramid schemes and are forbidden.

* Doublers are automated pyramid schemes and are forbidden.

* Randomizers are automated pyramid schemes and are forbidden.

* HYIPs are mostly blackbox pyramid schemes and are forbidden, with the exception of PIPS, which may be discussed, but not promoted.

* Envelope Stuffing is a pyramid scheme variation and is forbidden.

* Paid to Search schemes like NetB*x and PayP*p are forbidden.

* Ad Placement is a pyramid scheme variation and is forbidden.

* Currency Exchanges are often scams and may not be posted.

* Mystery Offers with no or little details are not allowed.

Are you saying that PIPS is not a blackbox pyramid or that it is being permitted to be discussed?

And thank you David Briggs for previous post of yours that have been helpufull. Going to check out the link you plug now.

PIPS got special mention at that time because there was a lot of interest, but frankly the only thing differentiating it from the other ones is it's size, IMHO.

We'll probably update that text, since there really isn't a need to single it out...

Netbux was shut down, and funny story about Paypup. The owner of it came to me and tried to get me to sell the script for him. Didn't work, though.
