As in most professions, Search Engine optimizers and marketers have a language all their own. It’s easy to get confused by similar terms and new words are being invented all the time.
Here are some very simple SEO definitions to help you begin navigating through the world of SEO:
Algorithm
The secret formula that a Search Engine uses to determine which web pages it will rank for any particular search and in what order those pages will appear in the SERPs.
Crawl
What spiders do - they crawl the web by harvesting links leading from one web page to another in order to discover as many pages as they can.
Link
An image or text that, when clicked on, takes you to another page on the web.
Page Rank
Google’s measure of the relative value of a web page as compared to all of the other pages on the internet. Page Rank goes from 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest.
PPC’s – Pay Per Click Ads
A very popular form of online advertising in which the advertiser pays for each visitor who clicks on their ad and goes to his/her website.
SEO – Search Engine Optimization
The art and science of improving a web site’s rankings in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs)
SERPs - Search Engine Results Pages
The pages of results that appear after a search is made.

i have some light one SEO.i think these tips can boost your site
all SERPS cans based on unique content .if you have unique content with rich keywords and no duplicates content then serch engines love your site
another factors is link building ..if you can get back links from high PR sites that helps you get good ranking but content plays more important

Good information. If we do not use seo terms correctly we will not be able to optimize the site for search engines well.

For someone just starting out, the terms and abbreviations around SEO can be confusing. Well, that should no longer be the case as you will find an explanation for then here!
* SE
* Search Engine
* A SE is a database that is an index of millions of web pages. Web pages are added to the index either by a submission or by the Search Engine Spider finding the website and crawling it.
* SEO
* Search Engine Optimization
* Search Engines each use their own algorithm to order their indexed pages. SEO is a method of taking all reasonable steps to get your particular page returned first when someone does a SE Search.
* SERPs
* Search Engine Results Pages
* Search Engines return their results in pages. Each page usually has 10 results. Most people searching only ever look at the first 3 pages of results, so your SEO strategey should be to get your site into the top 30 results.
* Link Popularity
* This is a measure of how many sites link back to you. Incoming links are a very important part of your SEO strategey. The more incoming links the more likely you are to get traffic to your site.
* Indexed Pages
* This is a count of how many internal pages of your website are in the Search Engines. The aim is te get ALL of your pages indexed otherwise you are potentially loosing site visitors.

yes....now a days SEO is very good for web site’s rankings in the Search Engine Results Pages ... people are using search Engine to find about that product or information which they want ... my website are also going through SEO precess and i am getting positive result ....
