Mistakes I have made in MLM  Reply with quote

Some say MLM means most lose money.

My biggest mistakes.

#1 Quitting. I once tossed all my leads in the trash and quit MLMing.

But it's like a desease once you have a desire for a downilne your toast.

Perhpas if I had gotten a good job out of college. But I actually got the MLM bug when I bought a calling card and got a commision.

My second biggest mistake was dreaming and over researching.

Sometimes you got to just do it.

I'll add to this thread if I remember any other mistakes.

Lately mistake number 3. I've been playing Sweet Tooth instead of posting adverts.

But I have been giving out flyers in real life so perhaps taking a tad of a break online isn't a mistake after all.

Wish I would have taken some flyers to TEsla. Was close enough I could have actually handed flyers to the band.

You're right, dreaming of the end results won't get you anywhere whether its for MLM or anything else.

So with the rest of these quotes you are telling people that they should just continue doing what they are doing whether its working or not and not spend too much time researching their "business".

That is just silly, if you want to be successful in anything you need to spend a lot of time researching the proper path (strategy) and how to perform the day to day operations efficiently.

You are just helping to portray the cult-like techniques used in MLM schemes:
1. Keep it vague and simple (don't do research)
2. Emphasize emotions over intellect ("You can be making $xxx in just xxx time!" rather than focusing on the product)
3. Us vs. Them (Naysayers just don't understand the opportunities, don't even listen to them and let them discourage you)

LOL I never said not to do research. I stated that I over researched it.

Have I avocated vague and simple? Well it's not like it's real work. Flyers, traffic exchanges, and stuff like that. And some of the product MLMers actually seem more cultish AKA emotions over intellect to me.

I was just stating some of the mistakes that I had made since I've had feedback that I'm a know it all.

So that is what bore this thread.

Well,my opinion is to learn from the mistakes and move on.Gaining financial freedom is an ongoing journey. It is through the failures that provide the experiences and bring the person closer to the goals.

Frankly speaking,i shared the same experiences. For MLM,building up a network takes time.It is necessary to do research, understand more about the company and make careful consideration before joining.

It is advisable to join a company with a system and support in place to work with you and gain financial success together.Build up a network of consumers and people who are looking for a business.Work with people who are serious in making money as a team.

Ultimately,it is advisable to choose a money making opportunity that you are comfortable with and stay focus at it.

One of the best things about MLM is that you do not have to reinvent the wheel to make money. You just have to become a spoke in someone elses wheel. Learn the systems from those that are really successful, do what they do, treat it like a real job. You don't have to invent the system. Just learn it.

I've met some guys who are into MLM and I do know of people who quit and people who are still in the same MLM product for years.

The difference is this: People who 100% believes in their product will stay for a long time.

A friend of mine has been with a health supplement company for years because he believes in their health product.

Money making isn't his goal: His goal is to preach the goodness of this health product.

Now, it's making a comfortable living. Not a lot of money, but good living.

Maybe that's worth some thought.

SO MANY QUIT BEFORE THEY EVEN BEGIN  Reply with quote

Sadly, the number one reason for such a high failure rate in MLM is most will quit before then even begin. I have seen it a hundred times, and so many I know regret it when they learn what they could have been earning if they stuck it out for more than the usual three months.

Success to all, Mike

I belong to one MLM and have quit dozens. The one big mistake throughout all of it was expecting someone else to do what you would in their shoes, it DOESN'T HAPPEN.

Someone once told me the only way to fail in MLM is to quit.

And it is funny how some will tell me that they would never MLM; but, as soon as they join a MLM they want me in their MLM LOL.

And it also amuses me how many MLMers are anti MLM. Perhaps that is why it is hard for some to take us seriously?
