It sets the tone that all matrices, all MLM's and all affiliate programs are in the same category as the obvious money game which was decribed as a matrix. WRONG, there is nothing wrong with a matrix, as long as it meets the legal requirements, just as in the MLM industry and affiliate marketing industry. There is nothing wrong with the matrix structure as long as there is a product or service offered that represents value.

ARE ALL MATRIX AND BINARY PLANS SCAMS ?  Reply with quote

Interesting,

I know most people lose money in any MLM whether a matrix or binary, but one thing is consistant, all MLM's are largely based the same type of matrix or binary plans, so how do we define these programs?

We cannot say they are all scams in my opinion, but we can say most will lose money if they don't work any business, and I suspect this is where all the negative posts come from, those who lost money on MLM, and since this is about 97%, no wonder so many hate MLM.

I have researched them all, and tested many, and no matter what we all hear, the results are the same, 97% fail. Why, because they don't work, they are mostly looking for the hyped up programs which say the spillover fairy is going to wave her magic wand over your position with no work required. Well, in this regard, you get what you put into it, and if you put no effort into a business, you get nothing out of it.

The killer in all MLM's is attrition, those who were misled to think they were going to make millions by simply jumping into a business is what has created this huge attrition problem industry wide and why 97% fail in MLM. If there was no hype, no income claims, then maybe less would fail, but I have seen no change in this in all the years I have been involved, and this is sad.

You have to be more selective than ever these days as the recession is killing all businesses, not just MLM. In my opinion, it all has to start with true verifiable value of product or service. Without this in the equation, forget it, no matter what the compensation plan is, you will not succeed, so save your time and money if you wouldn't purchase product or service yourself without the income opportunity.

This may sound too simple, but ask yourself before joining any business, would you be a customer without the opportunity. This will eliminate most from your list. Secondly, ask yourself this, given deep recession we are all suffering through, what are you cutting from your family budget? Obviously, you don't want to sell travel when most are cancelling their travel plans. Just an example since I owned a travel agency through a previous recession.

It is not the compensation plan that hurts the industry, it is the over priced products and services more so that make it too difficult for most to sell that kills the industry. If you are selling a good quality product or service at a reasonable price point, then success will come to more people, and this is what the industry needs more than anything. Success comes with small steps, so forget all the get rich overnight hype, it doesn't exist except for the so called haevy hitters and affiliate guru's who work huge lists they have built or purchased over the years.

Success to all,

MLM vs Matrix  Reply with quote

If you are just beginning to get involved network marketing, you will soon notice things that might disturb you. Many people start looking at network marketing with its matrix pay system and recruitment bonuses, and they are suddenly reminded of pyramid schemes, which are illegal and which, with the emergence of the internet as an important form of communication, have seen a huge surge of popularity. The fact is, however, that a good MLM business is completely legal and will make you a certain amount of extra income. Unlike a pyramid scheme, an MLM business will in fact be something that you are proud to put on your portfolio and resume.

When you are trying to figure out if your MLM business is a legitimate one, one of the first questions you should ask yourself is where your money is coming from. While getting a bonus when you recruit someone new is very nice, you'll find that a pyramid scheme will restrict the money you earn to a percentage of the recruitment fees. This means that it is near to impossible to make money just selling the product. With a good network marketing strategy, you'll find that your money comes from the product as well.
