Looking for partnership.. have solid traffic but need more..  Reply with quote

I run DomainGoRound.com, which has turned out to be moderately successful for me, (that might be an overstatement) and i am seeking partnership, or a (leg up) from a website/business that has a better track record than mine. I have about the same exact alexa traffic ranking as this site, but i still have trouble obtaining sales, and i even have trouble gaining active users, even though ALL but one of the services on my site are free. Even my user forums are like a ghost town right now. I need help, and i do not wish to spend hordes of money to seo companies, etc. I just need a decent website owner, who will take a look at how hard it is to gain visibility on the web, and be kind enough to give me that leg up. If you have any suggestions for the site, or are willing to help me/partner with me, please email me below asap. Also, the link to visit the site and look around can be found below as well. Thank you so much for all of your time.

Welcome Joe.

One idea that you might want to consider is pay-per-click advertising.

PPC ads are a great way to get targeted traffic to your website, because you bid on the search phrases that you want, and you pay only what you want to.

It works like this. You sign-up an advertising account at Google AdWords, Overture or FindWhat.com. You select your search phrases. For example, "domain registration", would bring the perfect set of visitors to your site, I think. Then you name your maximum cost-per-click and cost-per-day. Then, if you signed-up with Google's PPC ads for example, when searchers enter your phrase for a Google search, your ad will be shown on the result pages based on your bids. Bigger bidders get more exposures and more clicks. "Domain registration" would be a popular term, and the cost might be high to be in the top ad slot at all times, but even modest bids can bring in some traffic.

Another approach to take is investigation and application of SEO (search engine optimization). You really don't need to pay anyone to do some basic SEO. The basic ideas are having your key phrase in your page title, and in the body text of your pages. Getting more quality on-topic links to your site always helps, seo or not. Much can be learned about SEO just from typing SEO into your fav search engine and read read read.

Andrew, to be honest with you, all the ideas you mentioned above are very good ideas, the only thing is, i have already done them. See promotion, seo, link popularity, and pay per click advertising, as well as banner and link exchanges, are things i have already done for years. I have countless hours of experience in these areas, and i still have trouble with the site itself, even with these practices. I found pay per click to be very expensive in my specific market, and it brought me NO revenue at all. Banner exchanges failed because the sites my banner was being showed on, have absolutely NO traffic, i have already meta tag enhanced all my pages of the site, the topic and key words of my site are ALL OVER the site, so search engine spiders can find them, and consider the site strong on the topic, such as domain registration, etc. None of these practices have produced an increased presence in search engines, nor have they created any revenue for me whatsoever, this is why im so troubled by this situation.
