Matrix Sites scam the Ignorant and Greedy  Reply with quote

By participating in a Matrix you will hand over your money to a stranger and then work hard at spamming the Internet to earn more money for the Matrix operator who will eventually pull the plug on the site at which time you will lose your money with no chance of getting it back.

These scams are just a fancy pyramid scheme. Don't do it.

From Matrix Watch...

quote:

What is a matrix site?
--------------------------------------------------
This page contains the history of what MSNBC has called one of the fastest growing pyramid scams of the 21st century--the "matrix sites". MatrixWatch.org is here to warn consumers about the problems surrounding these scams, and to provide help to those customers caught up in them already. Here at Matrix Watch you can download the lawsuits against these sites, view media articles, and take part in our forum discussion. You must become a member to take advantage of these resources, and membership is a quick and easy process.

==========================
The Beginning
==========================

An exciting new idea was born a little over a year ago that promised tremendous rewards for a small investment. These new "matrix" sites attracted the attention of thousands of people, especially through eBay auctions. Those who joined these sites early boasted fast and easy returns on their investments. However, after few months passed, many sites would strangely disappear, and the owners were at many times unreachable. The sites that did last were plagued with problems that the matrix model inevitably produces. MatrixWatch.org has been formed to help these customers, and to prevent potential customers from joining these sites without knowing what they are all about (see "About Matrix Watch").

==========================
History of the Matrix Sites
==========================

Some time around April 2002, a new form of buying electronics was born. EZ Expo launched a system based on a straight line matrix where you can get some very expensive stuff for a very small investment. The website rapidly gained popularity and now has hundrends of people on their lists. Websites have come and gone, merchants have frozen hundreds of thousands of dollars and still the strong survive. There was a point when EZ Expo and one or 2 other websites were the only matrix sites out there, and when ten people could cycle in one day. This has all changed. Today, there are nearly 200 matrix sites offering cash and prizes to those who are willing to take a little risk.

==========================
What is a 'Matrix'?
==========================

This is basically how a matrix scheme works. When someone makes a purchase on a matrix site, that investment goes into the "pool" of the matrix. Once the required number of purchases is made for that specific item, the first person in line "cycles" and recieves the "free gift".

Example: this example is based on a 5 person matrix with a price of $100:

Person #1 pays: Becomes the one currently cycling. Pot becomes $100.
Person #2 pays: Pool becomes $200.
Person #3 pays: Pool becomes $300.
Person #4 pays: Pool becomes $400.
Person #5 pays: Pool becomes $500.

Person #1 "cycles" and recieves free item (worth $350), website takes $150 profit and Person #2 moves to currently cycling position.

Person #6 pays: Pool becomes $100.
Person #7 pays: Pool becomes $200.
Person #8 pays: Pool becomes $300.
Person #9 pays: Pool becomes $400.
Person #10 pays: Pool becomes $500

Person #2 cycles" and recieves free item (worth $350), website takes $150 profit and Person #3 moves to currently cycling position.

Matrix site total profit is now $300, and a total of 50 more people will need to join the matrix for Person #10 to receive their $350.

==========================
What is Wrong with this Picture?
==========================

For person #50 to receive their $350, 250 people must join the matrix. For person #250 to receive their money, 1250 people must join the matrix.

This is the problem with most of the lists out there today. The lists are too long, and 98% of the people end up getting ripped off because there are not enough new cyclers joining to help "cycle out" the people still on the lists. In fact, as of May 8, 2003, the EzExpo website listed 3,731 names in the 50" plasma television matrix, and only a small handful of people have signed up in the last three months. Rather than being a 5-person matrix cycle like the example above, this 50" plasma TV matrix on EzExpo is a 50-person matrix. The #10 person on the list needs to wait until 500 people join, number 100 on the list needs to wait for 5000, etc. All the while, the list starts growing larger and larger.

It is sad that matrix has become perverted.

No real matrix would be single line down.

In a real matrix your just doing a team effort in a way. An upline gets everyone in a network marketing organization so many levels deep. With a real matrix like Melauca use to do. With that out fit you could only have 5 front line. There rational was that 5 is the ideal number of people to manage.

Yup, I agree with you Andrew.

Matrix sites are becoming more like pyramid schemes.
The only people benefiting from Matrix sites are the owner of the site, and some top people.

However, the concept is great if doesn't involve money. An example is that the concept can be used for traffic generation. (i.e - building downlines ).

Sincerely,
Ethan G

Matrix sites are a scam and illegal!  Reply with quote

All matrix sites are a scam.

At the end, people end up with nothing - and the funny part is: they are in the vast majority. It is to get the pocket money from kids that think they will become rich by doing nothing. It doesn't work that way. Sorry.

That's all I wanted to say.

I hate Matrixes, randomizers, and doublers. I don't even understand matrixes, I saw one and it's talking about 3x3 Matrix doubler or some crap like that. Sites like that don't make sense and are scams. The only legitimate programs I have come across, that pay well, are TreasureTrooper, Studiotraffic, and 12DailyPro. At least some programs have got it right.

Interesting,

Here is a perfect example of how information can be distorted. In MLM all programs are some form of matrix, so are we to label the whole industry a scam? Yes, I know some might like to, but the reality is, all MLM's are a matrix, and in fact, pyramids, so by seeing the word matrix applied to the pyramid money game illustrated in first post is wrong.

It sets the tone that all matrices, all MLM's and all affiliate programs are in the same category as the obvious money game which was decribed as a matrix. WRONG, there is nothing wrong with a matrix, as long as it meets the legal requirements, just as in the MLM industry and affiliate marketing industry. There is nothing wrong with the matrix structure as long as there is a product or service offered that represents value.

You can't throw out the baby with the bath water is my point. Sure, there are tons of illegal programs, and just as MLM's are using a pyramid structure, so too are the scams. You cannot label all matrix structures as scams just because it is an easy target. A matrix is the most fair structure in my research, but only if there is a product or service of value being sold, and not the money game posted here.

Money games, no matter how they are structured are all illegal, it is not the matrix which is illegal, it is the lack of product or service that makes all pyramids, matrices, binaries, uni-levels, or whatever hybrid someone comes up with, you cannot condemn them all or we are in BIG trouble. (g)

Good luck to all, Mike

Agreed,

That often times is exactly what happens, but then again, I have several checks coming in every month and some I haven't promoted in years, so it can work both ways. It all comes down to the product, if it can stand on its own on value and quality, then MLM is great.

Good luck to all, Mike

mlm are not a matrix, simply, u get money reffering people; u can still do your money, but see those refferal income as an added income; in matrix, people just rely and sit back thinking hat they will become millionare when in fact the 78% of the people who read those scams just ignore then, so, just reduce it to a 22% and u'll have to sit back a WHILE, and even u could simply just get ur money lost
