Hi, i m trying to build a new website, i was wodering if anyone could answer this quetion: does signing up for google adsense program increase the traffic on ur website? I mean, placing adds from google, or any other engine, will increase my rank on the search lists?Might this increase my traffic a bit?
I m building this one, not for cash, but for its purpose of entertainment (i dont mind getting that extra cash from google anyways, it ll be good some extra income )

None of the search engines will publicly state how they rank their search results. Different people have different theories, but I wouldn't necessarily believe any one of them.
In other words ... your guess is as good as mine. Call me old fashioned, but I still think the best way to consistently and reliably have top search engine results is to provide quality content.

The only traffic that will be added from AdSense is Google's AdSensebot.
This is a separate robot from the classic Googlebot, and has nothing to do with search engine rankings, getting a page indexed or traffic.
Now, if you were to spend money with AdWords, that could actually send you some traffic...

Google does work with the right touch..you gotta position yourself with the right keywords that will trigger the crawlers so you can get more exposure...80% of all internet traffic is through the Engines...hope that helps

Puting Adsense wiill not get you more human visitors per se. You have to
do SEO and Adsense optimization to get better keywords. Also positioning
of the ads helps.
Anyway, I'll share this with you, but please don't tell anyone. I've seen a
"new" trend which is maybe good to test. I was compelled to click on one of
those so maybe the guy knew a thing or two
Anyway what you could do to increase CTR is put all the components of an
add in the same color (e.g. blue) and the background the same as the rest.
This will get you more money with the same ammount of traffic, but will NOT
increase traffic.
Hope this was in any way helpful.
Have a great one

Try to make your ads blend in with the rest of your site. This helps with the CTR
Google makes this easy to do with the option to change all the colours in the ads.

Getting website traffic is labor intensive. SEO, keywords, reciprical links are all needed to increase web traffic. Without advertisements, no one will know that your site is there. One way to get your site going is to have a blog that you can set up to automatically be pinged and send traffic to your site.

Interesting.
With the money google is earning on PPC I have no doubt that adsense is worth putting on your sites, but it has nothing to do with search engine placement. When you purchase PPC you will increase your sites hits which does have an impact on search engine placement, but it takes a ton of money and time to see results.
I spent a fortune on PPC and I am glad I did for I am getting a huge return on investment as all my sites of in top five on google, and number one under many of the keywords repated to my businesses. I am also using adsense and the money I earn on this alone is paying for the thousands I spent on PPC over the past few years.
The search engine rankings are a moving target with many changes happening every week, so unless you are committed to staying on top of industry, you can get bumped off top at any moment. Nothing beats aging, so the first thing you want to do is get started.
Good luck to all, Mike
