Wow after reading all of these posts, 90% of what is on the internet may be considered a pyramid scheme. lol Really, if a company has a product and requires no other action other than one buying the product if they like the results after use.

Is that a pyramid as well, money is being exchanged for a physical product. No other promises made. But the fact that one paid for X at a price and recieved X should not qualify this as a pyramid is this safe to say.

thanks

dear ibelieve:

if youbelieve that money exchanged for a physical product is a pyramid, then you don't know what a pyramid is about.

A pyramid is a fraudulent money-making scheme in which people are recruited to make payments to others above them in a hierarchy while expecting to receive payments from people recruited below them. Eventually the number of new recruits fails to sustain the payment structure, and the scheme collapses with most people losing the money they paid in.

Ibelieve that's why they're illegal. Wink

No that is not what I am saying I was just posing a question or example asking the above. I know what a pyramid scheme is and thank you for your comments. I was just making a comment that from what I have read in this thread that it seems like most if not all of what is going on, online is some type of scam pyramid or otherwise.

People are only looking to increase their bottom line, with no reguard to the next person. Money does terrible things to people unfortunately which is why one must do there own research before doing anything. thanks

Some facts:

The BIG BANKS get more in interest payments from corporations than are paid out in dividends to the risk takingt investors and share holders.

When Corporations are in threat of bankruptcy (as more and more are) the Government bails them out and the Burden is put on the tax payers so that the BIG BANKS dont loose, but the investors and tax payers do.

Fact The Big Banks get more in interest on a house than the laborers and contractor get for thier work.

The younger generations get increased tax burdens and debt that is imposible to pay. Aprox tax is 50% of your income and I cant remember every citizens dollar figure share of the debt (which doesnt include financial committments to other countries and many other expenses not accounted for).

So you see our whole monetary system is Like a Pyramid scheme where only those at the top can win. The working tax payer is now a tax slave, second class citizen.

The difference in Our fraudulent Monetary System and a Chain letter is that the Bankers are cut out of the picture. I guess its Ok for them to committ fraud though.

Some say that Lottos are for those who are bad at math. And I agree except that I get a check whether I win or lose.

Lottos are not pyrmids because they are based on luck not when you get in like a pyrmid. It is illegal to start up your own lotto but lotto clubs are recognized . . . .

Just wanted to comment on your lotto comment with out being to addish.

I think if a product is to token a MLM could be considered a pyrmid. Historically MLMs have been the first to market great products like fire alarms, water purifiers, and grape seed extract. Then later these products get cheap and go main streem.

Oh really?

I hate to tell you this, guys, since you're so against the "P-word." Do you really think pyramids are all that bad? Then, I have some bad news for you!

Basically, every company in the United States is set-up in the form of a pyramid. The U.S. government itself is also a pyramid.

There is nothing wrong with the "pyramid" shape. Be careful about stereotypes. MLM does NOT automatically = pyramid schemes.

Yes it is, and perhaps I do, but that doesn't eclipse the fact that you are an idiot.

Let me help you: What is meant by a 'pyramid scheme' is not anything and everything that is organisationally shaped like a pyramid. That SHOULD have gone without saying, however, due to your idiocy, I had to say it.

Please put more thought into understanding others' posts before dribbling all over them. Thank you, have a nice day, and remember: R.I.F. Reading Is Fundamental.
