CD Laddering at ING Direct  Reply with quote

Hi, i'm setting up a CD Ladder through ING and was wondering if it makes sense to have the interest transfered to my savings account. How often does ING compound the interest on CDs? Will I get a higher return if I just leave the interest in the CD?

I would keep as little money in your savings account as possible. My savings account is for available emergency type funds at a very local bank. It pays only slightly higher than a checking account. Liquidity on a cash currency basis. Today in legal tender if and when needed.

But if you have your money in ING direct savings account it pays MUCH higher than checking as you can get 4.15% with ing savings.
