I'm pretty sure there are popular sites that could make that much or more every single day. So, I think $1K a month is definately do-able, but you would need a decent amount of traffic for this.

1k Can be easily done by high traffic site.
If you really want to earn in PPC programs Focus on building Traffic.
How to attract traffic ? USEFUL content.
Internet is all about information. Provide as many pages of info as possible. Search Engine like contents.
I believe in TEAMWORK . If you are alone OR work alone - you need alot of time and effort.
