Online surveys are becoming a popular way for companies to get feedback from regular people in order to compete effectively in the market place. Whether it is ascertaining consumer trends or getting feedback on a particular type of product, surveys allow them to get the information they need. They desire this information so much that they are willing to pay people to take a survey. More and more people are taking advantage of the ability to participate in online surveys for extra cash, some even have made a decent living doing nothing but surveys for a few hours each day from home. Online focus groups are like surveys except that they take place at a specific time, and participants communicate directly with companies via a chat-like system so they pay even more than surveys. Getting started is easy, there are lots of websites that can provide a list of companies where people can get signed-up for surveys and focus groups, however they often will charge a fee to provide this list. It is possible to find lists of these companies without paying, although this may take a bit more time to locate.

Andrew:

I have been involved with two survey companies (not mentioning names at this point). I received ZIP! from either one. All I got was points and eligibility to win big bucks (will never happen!). Therefore I am leary about joining any paid survey organizations that promise you can make up to $150.00 an hour! My congratulations on anybody succeeding in this area!
This is not my cup of tea because they get too personal and my private life is my own business. Just my opinion, you can go with it any direction you wish.

Hey all... I'm new here, but I just had to reply to this.

First off... NEVER pay for a list of survey companies!!!! You can get them for free!!!! And no, you won't make the kind of money mentioned above!!!

You CAN, however, make a nice extra income doing them. It won't support you and your family, but I make around $400- 600 per month. That's after putting a lot of time into signing up for tons of companies and learning the ropes. I've been doing this for about 5 years. I started out making an occasional $10 here and there. I really worked my butt off to get to where I am now.

I'm gonna give you some links to check out... they are all completely free... I, personally, don't sign up for ones that give you a "chance" to win something... only the ones that guarantee payment. That's your choice, I do know some people who have won, but personally, I don't have the time for only a chance at getting something.

If you guys still have questions, feel free to send me an email alicia74070@peoplepc.com .

This is for a surveyring... I started this several months ago, but recently turned it over to a friend, for lack of time. Everyone sends in new surveys that you can get paid for. Again, it's free to join.

Here is a forum that discusses lots of ways to make money. If you join, you can even get paid for posting. In the "other ways to make money" section, I have posted several links for survey companies and research companies... sign up with them for free... you get on their mailing list and they send you surveys that they will pay you to take.

Hi Alicia, thanks for sharing those links. SurveyRing has the nicest logo I've ever seen for a Yahoo Group! That's cool.

Hi Lonnie,

I noticed you are from Ohio. What area are you in? I'm in the Dayton area. Also what kind of business did you start and how much of an investment do you need?

The truth about paid surveys  Reply with quote

Here's the truth about online surveys. There are hundreds of market research companies on the internet that are looking for people to evaluate their products and participate in their surveys. Many of these companies pay participants cash money for there involvement some companies pay you in points that can be redeemed for cash and prizes. All of these companies are free to join. The websites that charge fees to join are not actually market research companies, all they do is provide you with a list to the real sites.
You can make money taking surveys people do it all the time, but there's no need to pay anybody. There are plenty of quality websites that list market research companies for free. I highly recommend a free site called survey-networks.com, they have over 400 companies listed and they even give descriptions to each one. No other free or paid site compares to it. Hope the info helps, good luck to all.

I got paid to take a survey at the mall.

Had the time to kill and did not have the heart to tell the kid no.

They paid me 7 dollars. I gave the kid 2 or 3 don't remember. Spent the rest at a restraunt.

They also gave me several coupons:)
