National markets and the Great Depression.  Reply with quote  

Would combining national markets, through a North American Union, have helped getting the United States and Canada out of the Great Depression or would it have only made it worse? I know Mexico was not a sort of economic powerhouse at the time but it was defiantly the least effected out of the other two nations.

I don't think the economies of Mexico and Canada could have supported a USA Depression. I believe we'd have seen a similar decline in a North American Union.

I think combination this 2 market, not a good idea. Bcos US and Mexiko have a bad relationship with each other. just take a look at the border between them.

Connect the two markets is only good for foreign trade, but many suffer domestic product, and the result will be what it should be
