That guy scares the you-know-what out of me. Let's just say that I agree with you when you say his is "interesting."

My favorite is Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover.

Having said that, I disagree with Dave's recommendations on Investing and Insurance. His approach to both is far too black and white for me.

But, his approach to debt (and how to get out of it) is worth the price of the book and should be a must-read for most young couples.

The book I use is Austin Pryor's, The Sound Mind Investing Handbook. This book covers all aspects of personal finance from getting debt free, through saving for future needs, investing your surplus, diversifying for safety, planning for retirement and investing that glorifies God.

About 360 pages of good material, this book is in it's 5th edition. I expect a sixth edition in a few months that will include the most recent tax changes.

Rich dad and Poor dad. That got me started with investing at a very young age. You can't take everything he said, but try to read it with an open mind.

The best book on personal finance for me is Best for Debt Management: The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. It helped me to fix my financial life. I had a student loan. Sometimes I didn't have enough money till my paycheck and got payday loans weekend payout. I was so tired of that situation and decided to change it. Fortunately, I succeeded. But thanks for sharing, I'll read the suggested books.
