Usually most of the ladies are going to shopping with a man such as husband, father or boy friend so I think a man is spending more money than the women when they do a shopping.

i think men spend more at one time, but less frequently. women spend more often but smaller amounts. of course that's just a generalization and every person will differ

In my country men buy more expensive and important things whereas women are more engaged in buying cheaper items but at a larger number.

Women
Women spend more on clothes, soap, perfumes, purses etc. Guys spend more on electronics, sports, etc. Since clothing, soap, and stuff that women buy is something that is bought more frequently, I will say women.

Research shows that on average men get bored after just 26 mins of shopping whereas women can last up to 2 hours without getting bored. If they last longer they might spend more. However men do pay for women, whether the husbands of the brothers or the boyfriends. I'm not sure if you are considering that. If it is independent then women hand down.
