A draft US Army intelligence report has identified the popular micro-blogging service Twitter, Global Positioning System maps and voice-changing software as potential terrorist tools.
The report by the 304th Military Intelligence Battalion, posted on the website of the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), examines a number of mobile and web technologies and their potential uses by militants.

A woman has been arrested in Japan after she allegedly killed her virtual husband in a popular video game.
The 43-year-old was reportedly furious at finding herself suddenly divorced in the online game Maplestory.
Police say she illegally accessed log-in details of the man playing her husband, and killed off his character.
The woman, a piano teacher, is in jail in Sapporo waiting to learn if she faces charges of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating data.

A new report shows use of RSS feeds growing from two to 11 percent in the past three years. The key finding, though, is only 17 percent of the 89 percent who do not use RSS are interested in learning how, indicating a possible peak.
I disagree, how can you know whether you want to learn about or adopt RSS if you do not know what it is?

A blogger accused of leaking songs from the long-delayed Guns N Roses album Chinese Democracy has pled not guilty to violating federal copyright laws.
Kevin Cogill appeared Monday morning in federal court in Los Angeles and entered the plea.
.
Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N Roses songs on his Web site in June. The album has been 10 years in the making.
If convicted, Cogill faces up to three years in prison or more if prosecutors prove he did it for financial gain.

Businesses Missing RSS Opportunity |

A number of businesses have not added RSS feeds to their websites, a new study has found.
Research by marketing consultancy firm MarCom Ink found that 70 per cent of companies in the technology sector are not using the systems, which means they are failing to regularly communicate with visitors to their websites.
According to Marketing Charts.com, only ten per cent of those who use the feeds provide multiple options for readers hoping to subscribe.

A U.S.-based group has worked to bring liability insurance within reach of average bloggers, highlighting the risks that an increasing number of do-it-yourself publishers face when they unleash their thoughts on the Internet.
The non-profit Media Bloggers Association has announced an insurance policy designed to protect bloggers who face threats of libel lawsuits, copyright claims, invasion of privacy accusations and other legal woes.
I personally would prefer if bloggers simply stuck to the facts!
